I hold a B.A. in Sociology from Georgia State University and an M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Georgia. I am a licensed professional counselor in the states of Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida, as well as a National Certified Counselor, Board Certified Telemental Health Provider, Board Certified Coach, and a certified facilitator for Insight Learning trainings. My counseling style is best described as eclectic.
I have worked in diverse settings within the mental health, developmental disability, and family and children fields. My experience includes program start-up and development, partial hospitalization, day treatment, day habilitation, workforce reintegration, forensic evaluations, lab services, individual, couples and family therapy, and online counseling.
As a founding partner in Merz Consulting, Inc., I conducted hundreds of evaluations and supervised dozens of clinicians and interns. I developed a system of lab collection services that continues to operate today through a multi-state network. We employed around 70 individuals and provided services to dozens of agencies and companies.
In 2009, I chose to simplify my life and transitioned into private practice. That fits well and allows me to focus my energy on helping others make meaningful changes in their lives. I am glad you are here, and I hope that we have the opportunity to work together.
